Valencia Second Stop for World Title chaser Huff

Cambridgeshire racer Rob Huff travels to Valencia, Spain, for the second race weekend of the highly competitive FIA World Touring Car Championship on 1 April 2012, hoping to continue his fine early season form.

Huff sits 18 points behind his team-mate and reigning WTCC Champion Yvan Muller after securing second and third-place finishes in the first race weekend of the season at Monza, Italy, three weeks ago.

Huff's performances also contributed to Chevrolet leading the way in the Manufacturers’ Championship, which the Wellingborough-based works outfit tops by 44 points over rivals SEAT Customer Technology and BMW Customer Racing Teams.

The 32-year-old is more than familiar with Valencia’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo, having taken victory at the track in 2008, as well as podium finishes in both 2010 and 2011. Huff also conducted extensive pre-season testing at the challenging circuit in February, alongside Muller, so will arrive in Spain with its layout fresh in his memory.

"Valencia is a track I know really well, having driven over 800km there in just two days last month as part of pre-season testing,” said Huff. "Hopefully I can put everything I learned about the circuit into practice this weekend and keep earning podium finishes."
