Rob Huff will do his utmost for LADA SPORT in WTCC's Race of Russia

Russia is the host country for Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship and former Champion Rob Huff will endeavour to do the best possible job for LADA SPORT, title sponsor, ROSNEFT, and the team’s patriotic home fans at Moscow Raceway (6-7 June).

The WTCC returns to a more conventional circuit after calling at the fearsome Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany’s Eifel Mountains, where Huff dovetailed his LADA SPORT commitments with an appearance in the 2015 edition of the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Located in the Volokolamsky District, 80km North-West of the Russian capital, Moscow Raceway boasts a spectacular and technical layout, penned by world renowned architect, Hermann Tilke, which carves its way through picturesque forestland.

The ultra-modern circuit – Russia’s first purpose-built racetrack – has been a fixture on the World Touring Car Championship calendar since 2013 and stands as the highlight of the season for Huff and his LADA SPORT team.

“As a LADA SPORT driver, the WTCC’s annual visit to the Russia and the Moscow Raceway is the highlight of the season,” said Huff. “To go to Moscow Raceway with the home brand and perform in front of the patriotic home fans is always a real honour and it will be a proud moment when we line up on the grid with the new-for-2015 LADA Vesta.

“The weekend will take on a slightly different flavour with two new teammates in Jaap van Lagen and Nick Catsburg. I obviously raced alongside Jaap in the WTCC’s Race of Germany, but that being on the Nürburgring Nordschleife makes it a very unique experience and I am keen to see how I shape up against both my teammates on a conventional racetrack. Having said that, I am ultimately focusing on myself and I’m committed to delivering the best possible results for LADA, ROSNEFT and the Russian fans on home soil.”

The three-part FIA World Touring Car Championship qualifying session will commence at 13.30 local time on Saturday (6 June) and will be broadcast live on Eurosport, while Rounds 9 and 10 of the 2015 season are scheduled for 12.15 and 13.25 on Sunday (7 June) and will again be aired live on Eurosport.
