New livery for Rob Huff as he chases new records at Macau

Huff's Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR revised for Macau finale

Rob Huff's Sébastien Loeb Racing-run Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR will sport a revised colour scheme at this weekend's final round of the 2018 FIA World Touring Car Cup, as the Briton chases a record-smashing tenth victory at the Guia Race of Macau.

38-year-old Huff has an unparalleled record at the event, having won the race nine times - and this weekend will carry the colours of Xian-based firm Tianshi Industrial on his race-winning Golf, inter-spliced with the striking Volkswagen Motorsport colours which he's carried all year.

Tianshi Industrial, also the owner of the Tianshi Racing Team (TSRT), has been very active in the Chinese racing scene in the past few years. The squad competes from touring cars to GTs in various events and categories such as the Pan Delta Racing Festival, Macau Touring Car Championship, China GT and the China Endurance Championship (CEC).

The collaboration with Huff to compete at the Guia Race started back in 2016, where unfortunately due to a flaw in the qualification rules that year, Rob Huff was denied an entry despite perhaps being the most qualified driver to take part.

Huff's first win at Macau was exactly ten years ago, when he won the 2008 race behind the wheel of a factory Chevrolet Lacetti. Since then, Huff has won each year in which he's competed since, with one notable exception, 2012, when that year, instead of a race win, he walked away with his FIA World Championship title.

Huff also holds both the front-wheel drive lap records at the track, as well as the TCR-specification records.

The all-time front-wheel drive records were set by Huff last year during the FIA World Touring Car Championship's last visit to the region, while he set the TCR class qualifying and race records lap records in 2015, and with the field running with softer, faster Yokohama tyres for this year's event, those records are a target for Huff to be break as well.

Rob Huff said:

"We're going to Macau with one goal, to end the year on a high. My first year with Sébastien Loeb Racing has been fantastic, but in some ways not what we expected. That's why it'll be great to give the guys the result they deserve around the streets of Macau, and at the same time see if we can set some new records.

"With three races, it gives us three bites at the cherry. To come away with ten victories will be perfect. There's a chance also to score 11, which will be awesome if we can do it.

"12, it's probably impossible - as that'd mean passing nearly a dozen cars from the partially reversed-grid race, but never say never at Macau!

"My new Golf also looks fantastic. It's great to be have a partner onboard like Tianshi Industrial, and we go to Macau with a car that fits in with all the glitz that this magnificent place brings as a season finale."

Liu Peng of Tianshi Industrial, said:

"It's great to see our colours represented on the grid at the Guia Race of Macau this weekend, and with a driver of the calibre of Rob Huff.

"Tianshi Industrial is looking forward to a successful weekend around the streets of Macau, and our partnership with Rob Huff, a nine-time winner of the event, will hopefully be a very successful one."
