Huff announces Iconic partnership as WTCC heads to Asia
Former World Champion Rob Huff has partnered with one of the world’s most innovative and creative online betting companies, Iconic Bet, for the remaining Asian rounds of 2014 and the entirety of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC).
Iconic Bet is a new, innovative online gaming site that combines online casino games and sports betting with financial markets. Only at Iconic Bet can you beat the house, beat the odds, beat the market and beat your friends.
It has recently launched a new global website, which provides a unique gambling experience based on financial markets and currency, with a bespoke peer-to-peer function.
Profiting from the rise and fall of commodities, currencies and shares was once the domain of skilled technical professionals with huge bankrolls behind them, but Iconic Bet encourages its users to leverage their insight, hunch or good feelings and play it against the market in exclusive ‘Mind Games’, which look like traditional casino pursuits, such as roulette, blackjack, poker and slots, but whose outcome is determined by the markets.
This announcement coincides with the start of the Asian leg of the 2014 WTCC season in China, Japan and Macau, which sits neatly with Iconic Bet’s ambition to take its unique online gambling platform to the region.
Huffy – the 2012 FIA World Touring Car Champion – will begin carrying the Iconic Bet logo on his LADA Sport Granta in Rounds 17 and 18 of the WTCC at Beijing’s Goldenport Park Circuit (4-5 October) and it will remain a prominent feature of his livery for the remainder of 2014 and the duration of 2015.
Damien O'Brien, founder and CEO of Iconic Bet, said: "Huffy is truly a racing icon, from his WTCC campaign to racing iconic cars at Goodwood. We're very pleased to join the team for his remaining races in Asia and for the following year. Who doesn't want to be a race car driver?"
Following the champagne and celebrations of Argentina, where an incredible drive saw Huff achieve LADA Sport’s maiden WTCC podium finish at Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo, the Briton is in high spirits going to Asia and believes his newly forged partnership with Iconic Bet could potentially be a lucrative and long-term one.
“I’m delighted to have forged this partnership with Iconic Bet because, not only is it an exciting and vibrant new gambling platform, with which I am proud to be associated, but they’re a really good group of guys who love their racing and will be a welcome addition to the FIA World Touring Car Championship paddock this year and next.
“Beijing is going to be a new and interesting experience for the WTCC, as the championship venture out onto unchartered territory at Goldenport Park Circuit in a new region of China,” said Huff. “At only 2.3m in length, this is the shortest track we visit and that should remove a lot of the emphasis on aerodynamics, which could play to LADA Sport’s advantage. I’m expecting it to be more about mechanical grip and there’s no doubt we have taken significant steps forward in recent months, so it will be exciting to see how we fare."
Huff added: “Taking everything into consideration, there are so many unknowns and I have no idea if we will be able to emulate the sort of success we had in Argentina. The goal for all three of LADA Sport’s drivers is to breach the top ten in qualifying and benefit from the reversed grid pole position in race two, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one of us makes it. The car felt better than ever in Argentina and hasn’t changed since then, so we hope to improve again.”
