Reigning Champion, Rob Huff, achieved his second podium of the 2013 FIA World Touring Car (WTCC) season on the championship’s maiden visit to Russian soil and the ultra-modern Moscow Raceway (8-9 June).

The ALL-INKL.COM Munnich Motorsport driver adapted well to the brand new venue – located 80km North-West of the Russian capital – and took his turbocharged SEAT LEON WTCC to third on the grid in qualifying.

The Newmarket-based Huff fought for a podium placing in the opening WTCC encounter (Sunday 9 June), which included a 20-minute halt following an opening-lap collision between Charles Ng and Fredy Barth, but took the flag in fourth place.

However, the 33-year old would scale the winners’ rostrum in Round 12 to achieve his and Munnich Motorsport’s second podium of the year.

Huff ran as high as second until a collision with Mehdi Bennani demoted him to third, with the overall result being affected by a three-car pile-up involving Tom Coronel, Gabriele Tarquini and James Thompson.

“I am delighted to have taken at least one podium away from the Moscow Raceway on the WTCC’s first visit to Russia,” said Huff. “I expected to have a competitive package with my ALL-INKL.COM Munnich Motorsport SEAT Leon and that proved to be the case, but it’s great to be able to reward the team for its continued hard work and dedication with more silverware.

“I really think we’ll be in a position to challenge for regular podium finishes for the remainder of the 2013 season and I believe third in the championship is a realistic proposition. Bring on Portugal!”

Rounds 13 and 14 of the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship will be held at the Circuit da Boavista on the streets of Portugal's second largest city, Porto (29-30 June).
